2、 procedure is used to determine the melting point of thermoplastic materials. Apparatus Required Fisher-Johns Melting Point Apparatus Fisher Catalog #12-144V2. Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C

3、 and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Shave a small sample from the part to be tested, approximately 2 x 2 mm. 2. Insert the sample between two 18 mm diameter microcover glasses and plac

4、e on stage. 3. Sample may be rapidly heated to within 10 of its melting temperature, however, for the last 10, increase temperature 1 per minute. 4. Observe the sample for softening by application of light pressure to the top cover glass. 5. When the sample forms a small drop of liquid, read and rec

5、ord the temperature as melting point. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly.
