Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmos phere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/ - 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Prepara
6、tion of Test Buttons 1. Place the mold on a piece of mylar and then place the mold and mylar on the 0.250 inch steel plate. 2. Fill the individual button molds with a sample of the silicone and place a piece of mylar on top of the filled mold. 3 Transfer the mold immediately to the press set at 177
7、C. 4. Cure for 25 minutes, remove the mold from the press and remove the test buttons from the mold. Allow the buttons to cool to 23 +/ - 2 C. 5. Measure the hardness. Type A durometer hardness limits shall be as specified on the engineering specification. Reversion Test 1. Clean the reve rsion test
8、 fixture and remove all solvent by heating in an oven. Cool fixture in a desiccator. 2. Record the original hardness of the cured test button. 3. Place button in cavity of test fixture and tighten cover bolt to 25 pounds inch using torque wren ch. 4. Put the test specimen and reversion fixture in ov
9、en for six hours at 249 C. 5. Remove the test fixture and allow it to cool for a minimum of 2 h. 6. Remove the button from the fixture, if possible. 7. Measure and record the following data on t he button. (a) Observe the physical state of the button. Note if button cannot be removed from fixture, c
10、annot be tested, is too firm, is too soft or is crumbly. Also, record any other unusual appearance features. (b) Determine hardness by use of durom eter Type A. 8. Loss in durometer shall be as shown in the engineering specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this docu
11、ment must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and han dling in its facilities.
