、LT Application This procedure is used to determine the holding power of pressure-sensitive adhesive-coated products. Apparatus Required Mechanical Convection Oven The mechanical convection oven must be capable of maintaining a temperature of 121 +/- 2 C. Bonding Weight A 454 g weight with a 25.4 x 2
、5.4 mm base that is used for bonding the specimen to the coupon. Load Bars Three 100 g steel bars, with a hole in one end for attaching the bar to the test specimen using paper clip hooks, are used as a dead weight. Note: If alternative loading method (Figure 1) is used, pin and steel bar must total
、 100 g. Materials Required Test Coupons Three 30 x 75 mm CRLC steel test coupons* with a hole in one end for hanging vertically, using paper clip hooks. Clean per ASTM D 609 (solvent wipe). *Or as specified in the applicable Engineering Material Specification. Solvent VM refer to Fire Control Bullet

Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than
、24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Cut three 25.4 x 75 mm test specimens (with a hole in one end for attaching specimen to load bar using paper clip hooks). Note: Alternative loading method may be used to avoid the use of a hole in the
、 test specimen (Figure 1). 2. Remove the release liner from the specimens. 3. Make 645 mm2 bonds to the coupons by lightly placing the bonding weight on top of the 25.4 x 25.4 overlap area for 15 seconds* and then remove the weight. 4. Allow the specimens to set for 1 minute* prior to Step 5. 5. Han
、g the specimens vertically with paper clip hooks in the oven at 121 +/-2 C* (refer to Figure 1). 6. Gently attach the dead weights onto the specimens with paper clip hooks or as shown in the alternative loading method. 7. Examine the specimens at the end of 1,000 minute exposure* for disbond (i.e. s
、eparation) and slippage. *Or as specified in the applicable Engineering Material Specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
