2、ermine the amount of time required to develop a non-wetting, non-transferable skin over a 1 component sealant. Apparatus Required Steel Test Panel Dimensions: 100 x 300 x 1 mm, 1 required. Steel Strips Dimensions: 25 x 100 x 1 mm, 30 required. Cleaning Solvent Conditioning and Test Conditions All te

3、st values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure 1. Bend 1 end of each of the 30 strips in a 90 ang

4、le approximately 13 mm from one end (see Figure 1). Clean the 13 mm wide surface with solvent. 2. Dispense 3 beads 3 mm wide of test sealant approximately 25 mm apart onto the test panel (see Figure 1). 3. At 1 minute intervals depress an untouched section of the sealant bead with a clean, unused st

5、eel strip to a sealant thickness of 0.5 mm. 4. Withdraw the steel strip and observe if the sealant has wetted or transferred in the center of the steel strip at the approximate area of the original 3 mm sealant bead (see Figure 2). 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until sealant neither transfers nor wets the

6、 steel strip. Record the time in minutes. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly.
