2、he adhesion properties of spray deadeners and undercoating materials when subjected to impact at low temperature. Apparatus Required Laboratory Forced Air Circulation Oven Capable of maintaining temperatures up to 250 +/- 2 O C. Cold Box Capable of maintaining a temperature of - 40 +/- 2 OC. accommo

The test fixture consists of an angle iron frame (Part 1) with a pivoting clamping fixture (Part 2) and an adjustable counter

4、 weight (Part 3) for balancing the various specimen weights. The load (Part 5) attached to the lever (Part 4) results in an impact force when hitting the frame (Part 1). The rung (Part 6) limits the highest position of the lever. Load A = 1 .O kg Load B = 2.5 kg Materials Required Test Panels Steel

6、oning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 OC and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure (3 specimens requ

7、ired if not otherwise specified) 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 1 o. 11. The closed container of deadener or undercoating shall be conditioned for 24 h minimum at 23 +/- 2 OC prior to application. Determine the weight (W ) of the test panel, prepared in accordance with 1 Attachment 1, and mask off the t

8、op 20 mm of each panel where it fits into the clamping fixture. Spray the panel evenly with the test material to a wet film thickness in accordance with Attachment 1 or as specified by the applicable Engineering Material Specification. After an open time of 15 minutes at 23 +/- 2 OC, bake the panels

9、 in the oven, with forced air circulation, in accordance with Attachment 1 or as specified by the applicable Engineering Material Specification. Cool to 23 +/- 2 OC, remove masking tape, hold specimen at this temperature for 2 h and determine total weight of specimen (w). Insert specimen in the clam

10、ping fixture (with deadener or coating side outermost). Remove the load (part 5) and balance the specimen by means of the adjustable counterweight (part 3). Attach load A or BI, as required, to lever (part 4) and fix at a distance of 300 mm from pivot center (Figure 2). Place specimen and impact tes

11、t fixture in the cold box for a minimum of 3 h at the temperature specified by the applicable Engineering Material Specification. While still in the cold box, allow the lever to fall 6 times in rapid succession from a horizontal position. Remove specimen from cold box and condition for 16 h at 23 +/

12、- 2 O C. Remove any loose particles of test material and determine the weight (w3) of each specimen. Note: subjected to additional testing cycles according to steps 7, 8, 9 and 1 O.
