2、re is used to determine the impact resistance of multi-ply deadener pads at low temperature. Apparatus Required Test Panels Steel body skin panels: Each panel has 4 tongues as shown in drawing. Dimensions: 300 x 300 x 0.9 +/- 0.05 mm Load A 300 x 300 x 1.5 +/- 0.1 mm Load B Surface Finish: 45 - 65 m

3、icroinches C.L.A. Punching Die See drawing for dimensions of punched slots. Impact Test Fixture As specified in FLTM EU-BV 051-01. Cold Box Capable of maintaining a temperature of - 40 +/- 2 C. The box must be large enough to accommodate the fixture during the slamming test. Conditioning and Test Co

4、nditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 5、 2 of 3 Copyright 2000, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. Procedure 1. Cut at least 2 samples 280 x 300 mm and punch 4 slotted holes in each as shown in sketch. 2. Slot the sample of the test material on to the 4 tongues of the test panel and secure by bending over the ends of the 4 tongues. The sample

6、 must be firmly held without compressing the material. 3. Insert a specimen in the clamping device of the impact test fixture (with the deadener side outermost). Remove the load (part 5) and balance the specimen by means of the adjustable counterweight (part 3). 4. Attach load “A“ or “B“, as require

7、d, to the lever (part 4) and fix at a distance of 300 mm from the pivot centre. 5. Place the specimen and impact test fixture in the cold box for a minimum of 3 h at - 40 +/- 2 C. 6. While still in the cold box allow the lever to fall 6 times in rapid succession from a horizontal position. 7. Remove

8、 specimen from cold box and allow it to attain 23 +/- 2 C. Evaluation Examine the test specimen and determine: 1. The degree of delamination of the multi-ply deadener pad. 2. The extent by which the multi-ply deadener pad has broken loose from the tongues of the test panel. Chemicals, materials, par

9、ts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
