3、that the specified minor diameter limits are maintained to within one pitch (thread) of the underside of head, or closer if practicable. Screws of longer nominal lengths shall have a minimum length of full form thread equal to 6 diameters or 1.50 inch (38) whichever is shorter. For trim head Type A

4、tapping screws up to and including No. 12 (5.5) body size having nominal lengths of 1.0 inch (25.4) or less, the full form threads shall extend close to the head such that the specified minor diameter limits are maintained to within one pitch (thread) of the underside of the head, or closer if pract

5、icable and on nominal lengths greater than 1.0 inch (25.4), the length of full form thread shall be such as to provide an unthreaded shank length of 0.50 inch (l2.7), plus 0 and minus 2 pitches weads). 14、 Nominal Size in Millimeters. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS The height of head indicated above represents a metal-to-metal measurement. In other words, the truncation of the rounded surface due to the cross recess is not considered part of the head height. The bearing surface of the head shall be at right

15、angles to the axis of the screw shank within 2 degrees. The eccentricity of the head with the axis of the screw shall not be more than 3 percent of the maximum head diameter. The eccentricity of the cross recess with the axis of the screw shall not be more than 6 percent of the basic screw diameter

16、or 0.015 inch, whichever is greater. The radius of the fillet under the bearing surface of the head shall be no greater than 15 percent of the basic screw diameter. The depth of cross recess Qenetration gaging) shall be measured parallel to the axis of the screw shank and shall be in accordance with

23、TIR) of maximum width across flats. Across corner dimensions shall be measured using gaging rings. For across corner gaging method and equipment see Page Z- 134.01. The radius of the fillet under the bearing surface of the head shall be no greater than 0.15 times the basic major diameter of the thre

24、ad. Taper of sides of hex (angle between one side and the axis of the screw shank) shall not exceed 2 degrees or 0.004 inch whichever is greater, the specified width across flats being the larger dimension. The optional indentation in head shall not impair function of part. Shape is optional with th

25、e manufacturer. Screw heads shall not be eccentric with the screw bodies by more than 3 per cent (6 per cent TIR) of the maximum width across flats. Manufacturers identification shall be a symbol recognized in the trade, and grade identi- fication shall be in accordance with SAE requirements for Gra

29、ide diameter “A“ of washers for preassembly on unthreaded screw blanks shall be optional, but shall be such that the washer will be retained on the screw after thread rolling, but shall not bind on the screw shank before and during tightening of the assembly. Washers shall be symmetrical in shape. T

The direction of blanking the outside diameter should permit the sharper edge to be on the underside of the washer. Material and Hardness - Washers shall be made from SAE 1050 to 1065 carbon steel, fabricated and hea

MATERIAL AND HARDNESS - Washers shall be made from SAE 5403 1055 - 1065 carbon

36、 steel fabricated and heat treated to Rockwell C 38 - 46 or equivalent. QUAD-RIB WASHER - There shall be 35 to 45 serrations per inch as counted along the radial center line of the washer face. The length of the serrations must cover 75% of the surface between the ribs. The depth of the serrations s

37、hall be -002 to .006 in. at both sides. The permissible burr at the severed ends shall not increase the overall thickness dimension by more than 10% for washers on the hexagon head screws and 12% for washers on the pan head screws.
