SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a medium strength copper containing steel. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for sintered pulleys o
3、r other applications where a medium strength sintered material is required. This material can be gas or pack carburized. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Material
4、s (WSS-M99P1111-A). Part producers using this material in their products, must use Ford approved materials and must conform to a process control plan which has been approved by STA and/or the relevant Materials Activity. 3.2 COMPOSITION Carbon, min 0.2% Copper 2.0 - 4.0% Other Elements, max 2.0% Iro

In cases where machining a test piece is precluded by component shape then a physical test shall be specified. Hardness determinations must be carried out using the Rockwell B method. Conversion from other hardness test methods is not accept-able. 3.4 MICROSTRUCTURE The microstructure shall consist principally of ferrite and pear-lite, while the porosity shall be fine and uniform in distribution.
