SCOPE: This standard describes the requirements for Clear Lens CoverallCup Goggles and recommended usage.2. GENERAL REQU
2、IREMENTS: Coverall Cup Goggles must fit over either plano orprescription safety glasses as approved in Manufacturing Standard SD3-1and Industrial Relations Administration Manual, Section C, Topic 700.These goggle are to be provided with either plastic or heat treat glasslenses and conform to ANSI Z8
3、7.1-1979.General Purpose Cup Goggles are not approved as they do not fit overplano or prescription safety glasses.3. RECOMMENDED USAGE: Clear Lens Coverall Cup Goggles are intended forprotection from particles coming from any direction. Chipping or airhammer operations would be typical occupational
4、operations for whichthese goggles are intended.The selection of plastic or glass lenses shall be predicated on thelongest service for the type of exposure.Approved occupational safety glasses shall be worn in conjunction withcoverall cup goggles.4. SPECIFICATIONS: Unless otherwise specified, clear l
5、ens coverall cupgoggles shall conform to the current American National Standard forOccupational and Educational Eye and Face Protection, Z87.1-1979, andlater revisions as they appear.The headband shall be flexible, adjustable and a minimum of 1/2 inch(12.7mm) wide.5. ORDERING INFORMATION: Each order
6、 must state the manufacturing standardsnumber, type and size of lens, and type of bridge if other than with abrace.Replacement lenses must be ordered for specific applications by size andtype.6. SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY: All goggles and lens supplied to thisstandard must be equivalent in all charact
7、eristics to the goggle and lensupon which approval was originally granted.The manufacturer is to certify in writing that all components suppliedunder this standard conform to the current American National Standard forOccupational and Educational Eye and Face Protection, ANSI Z87.1-1979,or later revi

APPROVAL OF NEW SUPPLIERS:7.1 Pricing of goggles from proposed new suppliers should be determinedto
9、be cost competitive by Purchasing and Supply Staff prior toobtaining laboratory and shop trial approvals. After the producthas been determined to be cost competitive, gloves submitted by newmanufacturers to this standard and concluded to be cost competitivemust have laboratory and shop trial approva
10、ls. Recommendations forthe addition of new manufacturers to the Manufacturing ApprovedSource List (ASL) must be made by the appropriate division standardsactivity in writing to the Plant Engineering Office, ManufacturingStaff. All supporting data must accompany the written request.7.2 The Plant Engineering Office, Manufacturing Staff, and theEnvironmental Health and Safety Manager, Employee Relations Staff,will review requests to determine approval.
