SCOPE: This standard describes the requirements and recommended usagefor clear flexible fitting hooded ventilation

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Clear hooded ventilation coverall goggles must fitover either plano or prescription safety glasses as approved inManufacturing Standard SD3-1, and Industrial Relations AdministrationManual, Volume III, Section C, Topic 700, and provide eye protection fromcor
3、rosive liquid splash, mists, sprays, and fogs.Design of the goggles shall permit lens replacement without the use ofspecialized tools.3. RECOMMENDED USAGE: Hooded ventilation coverall goggles are intended forprotection from corrosive liquid splash, mists, sprays, and fogs.Handling of chemicals in a
4、laboratory and transferring of corrosivechemicals in production operations would be typical operations for whichthese goggles are intended to provide protection. Jobs or locationsrequiring hooded ventilation coverall goggles shall be designated by thesafety representative.Approved industrial safety
5、glasses shall be worn in conjunction withhooded ventilation coverall goggles.4. SPECIFICATIONS: Unless otherwise specified, hooded ventilation coverallgoggles shall be of the “antifogging“ type and conform to the appropriaterequirements of American National Standards Institute standard ANSIZ87.1-197
6、9, Occupational and Educational Eye and Face Protection, andlater revisions as they appear.The headband shall be flexible, adjustable and a minimum of 1/2 inch(12.7mm) wide.5. ORDERING INFORMATION: Each order must state the manufacturing standardsnumber and the name of the goggle.Replacement lenses
7、must be ordered specifically for this type goggle byname.6. SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY: All goggles and lens supplied to thisstandard must be equivalent in all characteristics to the goggle and lensupon which approval was originally granted.The supplier is to certify in writing that all components sup

APPROVAL OF NEW SUPPL
9、IERS:7.1 Pricing of goggles from proposed new suppliers should be determinedto be cost competitive by Purchasing and Supply Staff prior toobtaining laboratory and shop trial approvals. After the producthas been determined to be cost competitive, gloves submitted by newmanufacturers to this standard
10、and concluded to be cost competitivemust have laboratory and shop trial approvals. Recommendations forthe addition of new manufacturers to the Manufacturing ApprovedSource List (ASL) must be made by the appropriate division standardsactivity in writing to the Plant Engineering Office, ManufacturingStaff. All supporting data must accompany the written request.7.2 The Plant Engineering Office, Manufacturing Staff, and theEnvironmental Health and Safety Manager, Employee Relations Staff,will review requests to determine approval.
