SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a very high heat resistant acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene molding compound. 2. APPLICATION The material
3、 was originally released for manufacturing of instrument cluster bezel. 3. REQUIREMENTS Note: The material shall be conditioned for a minimum of 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity prior to test and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. The minimum and maximum
4、values of this specification are based on natural colored and pigmented material. 3.1 REQUIREMENTS FOR TEST SPECIMENS All tests shall be carried out on injection molded specimens with the exception of clause 3.1.6. The test specimens may be either compression molded, injection molded or extruded. Pr
5、eparation of Injection Molded Test Specimens: Preparation of specimens according to ISO 294. The optimum molding conditions shall be as recommended by the supplier of the molding compound. Test specimens must not be annealed. 3.1.1 Density, Natural Colored 1.04 - 1.07 Mg/m3 (ISO R 1183, Method A) Th

Testing shall be done within the cold box, if not possible, test can be conducted outside, but within 3 seconds. 3.1.4 Shear Modulus (ISO R 537, Method A, specimen size: 60 x 10 x 1 mm) At 23 C 940 - 1270 MPa Additionally a shear mo
9、dulus curve shall be plotted from - 50 C to + 140 C and shall be within the tolerance range shown on page 7. At least one measurement at 5 C intervals is necessary to establish the curve. Note: The test specimens must be injection molded in the above mentioned size with front end gating and shall no

14、 and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTM EU-BN 24-2. 3.1.6.2.1 Performance - Environmental Ageing Requirement All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated, and exceed a maximum burn rate of 75
15、mm per m as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM EU-BN 24-2, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 according to the accelerated environmental ageing requirements applicable to the basic material category of this par
16、ticular specification. 17、2, regardless of maximum burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 applicable to the basic material category of this particular specification. 3.2 SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
18、S 3.2.1 Accelerated Weather Resistance Rating 4, 200 SFH (FLTM BN 1-1, Fadometer) This requirement applies only for self-colored material in design approved interior colors and is omitted for natural colored material. After exposure the material shall show no fading or color change in excess of spec
19、ified AATCC rating (AATCC Gray Scale for Evaluating Change in Color, 10 step). In addition, there shall be no cracking, crazing or other deterioration. A slight loss of gloss or deposit will be allowed provided an acceptable appearance can be achieved by washing with water and mild detergent (ratio
20、95:5 by volume). Specimen size: 100 x 70 x 3.0 +/- 0.2 mm Specimens to be molded in a high gloss polished mold. 3.3 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/or thermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The
21、 IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions.
22、3.4 SUBSTANCE CONTROL Legal, health, safety and environmental constraints may apply to the materials which are submitted for approval to this specification. 23、of 7 3.5 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any change in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing or labeling of the material
24、originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of t
25、he Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined in Engineering Materials Specific
26、ation WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchasing, Design and Mat
27、erials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of
28、this specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on its performance to this specification and on an assessment of suitability for intended processes and/or a
