SCOPEThe material defined by this sp ecification is a molded multi-ply sound andheat barrier part consisting of a synthetic resin bonded non-woven naturaland/or synthetic fiber padding and with both sides faced with an embossedaluminum foil.2. APPLICAT

3、IONThis m aterial is used as an acoustical and heat insulating pad for carpetor rubbe r mat underlay and/or as specified on the Engineering Drawing,where good heat stability is required.3. REQUIREMENTSAll test values indicated in this specification are based on materialscondit ioned at 23 +/- 2 C an

4、d 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for 24 h priorto test and tested under the same conditions.3.1 ALUMINUM FOIL3.1.1. Thickness, max 0.15 mm3.2 FIBER PAD3.2.1 Thickness 12.5 mm +/- 15 % or as specified(300 x 300 mm specimen on Engineering drawingat 24 Pa loading)3.2.2 Density 50 - 70 kg/m3(ASTM C 167, e

6、e bonded to two specimen holders each usingadhesive S-M2G4610-A and conditioned for 24 hours atroom temperature.2) Deter mine splitting resistance in a tensile testingmachine at a rate of pull of 25 mm/minute.3.3.2 Compression Set, max 35 %(ASTM D 1564, Method B, 50 % compression22 h at 23 +/- 2 C a

7、nd 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity. Measure final thickness of testspecimen 1 h after removal from apparatus)3.3.3 Thermal Conductivity, max 0.048 W/mK(ASTM C 177-71 or C 518-70, based on amean temperature of test of 110 C,specimen thickness max 15 mm)3.3.4 Sound Absorption According to Figure 2(ASTM C

8、384)Note: Five samples shall be cut from the molded part.Carefu lly remove aluminum foil from one side of the fiberfelt (fiber felt towards sound source). Samples formeasuring in the small tube shall be cut from the center ofthe sample needed for the great tube after measuring thelatter.3.3.5 Mildew

9、 ResistanceThe material shall be free from mildew and malodor.Test Method: Place a 100 cm2 area of test material soakedwith d istilled water in a beaker glass of 1 litre capacityand cover tightly with a lid. Maintain assembly at atemp erature of 35 +/- 2 C for 336 hours. Remove lid andexamine as des

11、 mponents, and composites shall not burn ortransmit a flame across their surface, at a ra te ofmore than 100 mm/minute. To demonstratecompliance, the sample size and method of testingshall be in accordance with FLTM EU-BN 24-2.3.3.7 Performance - Environmental Ageing RequirementAll materials, portio

12、ns of components, and compo sites definedby this specification that have not been treated , modified orreformulated, and exceed a maximum burn rate of 75 mm perminute as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan ofFLTM EU-BN 24-2, must be evaluated for permanency of thematerials flame retardan

13、t properties per SK-M99P9500-A,Ta ble 1 according to the accelerated environmental ageingre quirements applicable to the basic material category ofthis particular specification.Any material, portions of components, and composites definedby this specification that have been treated, modified orreform

14、ulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan ofFLTM E U-BN 24-2, regardless of maximum burn rate, must beevaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardantproperties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physicalproperties per SK-M99P9500-A, Table 1 applicable to the basicmaterial c

15、ategory of this particular specification.3.3.8 Heat ResistanceNo carbonization or crumbling of fiber pad.Test M ethod: Place a 100 x 100 mm plane test piece ofmate rial under test horizontally onto a heating plate of190 +/- 2 C for 16 h. Cool to room temperature and examine.3.3.9 QUALITYThe mate ria

16、l shall be of uniform quality free from foreignmaterial and properties detrimental to normal pr oduction use.It shall not cause excessive soiling of handlers in normalproduction use.3.3.10 HEALTH HAZARDS AND ODORThe material must not contain any ingredients (matter),which, under normal production co

17、nditions, could lead tohealth hazards such as skin rash or irritation (dermatitis),irr itation of the mucous membranes, difficulties inbrea thing, etc. The material shall be free fromobjectionable odors both as received and after storage.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONSK-M99G9509-ALSK-M99G9509-BW

18、P 3948-b Page 4 of 6 3.4 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of

19、 the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written a

20、pproval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materials

21、Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design

22、and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirement

23、s of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/

24、or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5.
