SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a welded precision steel tube, which has been normalised and cold drawn to obtain special dimensional accuracy. 2. APPLICATION Thi

3、s material is normally used for manufacturing driveshaft tubes. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 MATERIAL Steel according to the f

4、ollowing analysis: % C 0.18 - 0.25 Si max 0.35 Mn 0.30 - 0.70 P max 0.05 S max 0.05 3.3 MECHANICAL PROPERTIES Tensile Strength (ISO R 375) min 540 MN/m2Yield Strength (0.2 % P.S. : ISO R 375) min 490 MN/m2Elongation (ISO R 375) min 8 % Hardness : 85 - 100 HRB ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION SQ-M1

6、 normalised condition before cold drawing operation). 3.6 NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING The tubes must be 100 percent tested in the cold drawn condition for defects. The test is carried out at an eddy current testing facility which conforms in design and calibration with BS 3889 Part 2A. On tubes having an outside diameter larger than 63mm, the calibration of the testing facility, as it is understood by this specification, has to be done with a testhole of 2 mm. Tubes which give a defect signal have to be segregated.
