BUILDINGS, INTERIORThe selection of colors for painting building interior walls and the underside of exposed overhead construction should be inaccordanc

24、e with the following guidelines:The dominant color for walls, or other vertical surfaces, should be a light neutral to maximize the effectiveness of any accentcolor(s) which may be used or required. The neutral background should be as light as possible and as practical for thefunction and activities

25、 of the space enclosed. Recommended background colors are light gray or light beige. Backgroundcolors other than a neutral may reduce the effectiveness of safety identifications.Color selections should be made in a lighting environment that accurately represents the space being painted. Some artific

26、iallight sources, such as mercury vapor and high pressure sodium, significantly change the appearance of paint pigments andmay reduce color recognition or contrast.Choice of colors for all dominant wall surfaces should provide a minimum light reflectance value of 75 %.The minimum gloss of paints use

27、d in manufacturing areas should be “eggshell”. Higher levels of gloss should be used wherepaints may be exposed to above average degrees of soiling or moisture.White is recommended for all overhead surfaces that are suitable for painting.Where possible avoid painting la rge galvanized surfaces.Paint

If they can not be eliminated, a visual hazard-alerting message should beprovided to inform the observer of the hazard, the degree of hazard, and the appropriate actions to take to avoid injury. Toachieve these objectives, it is most important to have an easily re
