All functional faces, locating faces, rest faces and rails shall be hardened to 60 - 65HRC or equivalent to provide wear resistance. Centers and V - blocks shall be provided with tungsten carbide or equivalent
3、material to provide wear resistance. All materials shall be dimensionally stable. Castings, weldments, and steel details may require stress relieving to eliminate internal stresses. All non working surfaces to be suitably protected with rust preventive coating or primed and p ainted to Ford spec. (R

Engineering designs purchased by Ford shall be complete including layouts, assemblies and details drawn according to the Ford Engineering
9、CAD & Drafting Standards. Final drawings shall be approved as conforming to Ford Standards by the appropriate activities. On completion of manufacture one set of prints shall be delivered with the gauges. 4.3. Identification of gauges and masters . 4.3.1 Gauges are marked with: Gauge No. - Ford draw
10、ing or Manufacturing Standard No. - and unique serial number provided by each Ford manufacturing plant. If a master is required for setting the gauge, the gauge is marked with “use with master 024 - S - NK - .“ Additional marking instructions shown on the drawing must be observed. Gauge details not
11、permanently attached such as sweeps, plugs, handles etc., must be marked with gauge - no. and detail - no. 4.3.2 Additional marking according to type of gauge as follows: Limit gauges : Upper and lower limit dimensions to be checked and marked as “GO“ and “NO GO“ Thread limit gauges or thread gauges
12、 with depth notches : Thread designation. Mark as “GO“ and “NO GO“ Depth dimension on gauge with appropriate notching. Multi - purpose gauge : Gauges for checking multiple characteristics and gauges with multiple manual probes shall be provided with a sketch or diagram indicating the proper gauging
13、sequence a nd probe selection . On measuring equipment which requires individual gauging elements to be changed for the checking of different but similar production parts, the necessary set up and gauging instructions must be marked on the equipment. For electronic gauges with pc based computers, th
14、ese instructions can be incorporated in the gauge program and displayed on the operator interface screen.
