APPLICATION.
3、 This standard will normally be applied to plastic fasteners with a feature designed toretain the part in a panel hole, on welded “T“ stud attached to a panel, on a welded stud attached to apanel, or on the edge of a panel in a specially designed hole. It may also be applied to plastic plugs ortrim
4、retaining buttons.The standard can also be applied to plastic pipe clips such as latch and push-in (this includes spacer andswivel) type features.3. Thefeature shall then be pulled out of the test plate and the force measured.The diameter of the hole in the test plate, the thickness of the test plate, the maximum push-in force and the m

7、d Stud Type FeatureFigure 2 - Typical “T“ Weld StudThe feature shall be pushed on to a steel “T“ welded stud in direction F 1 which meets thedimensional requirements of Ford part number W700569 and the force measured. Thefeature shall then be pulled off the “T“ welded stud in direction F 2 and the f

10、e until securely fitted in the retaininghole and the force measured. The feature shall then be pulled off the test plate and theforce measured. The hole in the test plate, the thickness of the test plate, the maximumpush-on force and the minimum pull-off force shall be as specified on the Ford drawi

12、ch FeatureThe Latch feature shall be closed securely so as to retain appropriate steel test mandrelsand the force (push-on) measured. Forces shall be applied to the assembly such that thelatch feature is loaded until failure occurs (latch pulls apart). The minimum force to causefailure shall be reco
13、rded.The test mandrels diameters shall have a tolerance of +/-0.1 and the assembly conditionsof the mandrels shall be as stated on the Ford drawing for the part.The maximum push-on force and the minimum pull-apart force for the feature shall be asspecified on the Ford drawing.3.2.2 Push In Type Feat
14、uresFigure 6 - Typical Push-In FeatureThe mandrels shall be pushed into the feature in the directions shown on the Forddrawing for the part and the forces recorded. The mandrels shall then be pulled out in theopposite direction and forces recorded.The test mandrels diameters shall have a tolerance o
15、f +/-0.1 and the assembly conditionsof the mandrels shall be as stated on the Ford drawing for the part.The maximum push-in force and the minimum pull-out force shall be as specified on theFord drawing for the part.4. GENERALAll testing shall be carried out at ambient temperature (23 c +/-2).The speed of testing shall be 100mm +/-5 per minute.NOTE : This does not apply to the testing of the latch type features.
