2、. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a flat woven polyester face fabric, with HF welding, containing a minimum of 25% PIR/PCR (Post Industrial/Post Consumer) recycled yarn. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as an interior trim fabric for 201
3、7 MY seat insert . The fabric was originally approved as tri-laminated with foam and a backing scrim. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification i
4、s listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 3.2 APPEARANCE The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Corporate Design master sample. 3.3 FABRIC PERFORMANCE In a
5、ddition to the requirements listed herein, the fabric shall meet all requirements of WSS-M8P18-B1/B2/B3/B4/latest as applicable. 3.4 VEHICLE INTERIOR ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE Materials used in interior applications must meet the requirements outlined in WSS-M99P2222-D1/latest, Performance, Vehicle
6、Interior Environmental Quality Material/Component Requirements. Data must be included in material submission package. 3.5 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values are based on material conditioned for not less than 24 h prior to testing in a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5%
7、 relative humidity. The remaining portion of the material can come fr
10、om virgin sources. Refer to the Approved Source List (ASL), for specific regional recycled levels for this material. Virgin yarn contains 100% virgin material. 3.10 METHOD OF DYEING Solution dyed. 3.11 FINISHED OPERATIONS Washing, drying, back coating , framing, Pad SR, framing, Cutting, HF Welding.
11、 Any changes to the above process must be approved by Materials Engineering. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 12、urchase departments will ensure that the material defined in this specification and shipped to any one assembly plant will be produced by one supplier only. In the event of a Global Program or regional duplication, each regional location of the supplier for this specification must provide a construc
13、tion package and be approved to meet this specification. The fabric must also mee
14、t the requirements of WSS-M8P18-B1/B2/B3/B4/latest. 4.3 Global strategy for this fabric is to use tri-laminate/foam & scrim construction in all regions. 4.4 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Pr
15、oduct Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material
16、samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.5 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All
17、materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify
18、the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all sample
19、s tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.6 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1/latest which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis. 5. SUMMARY OF REVISIONS
