2、TING 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a flat woven polyester face fabric containing a minimum of 25% PIR/PCR (Post industrial/post consumer) recycled yarn. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as an interior trim fabric for MY 2018 seat in
3、sert for the Ranger NA. The fabric was originally approved as tri-laminated with foam and a backing scrim. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specificat
4、ion is listed on the drawing, CAD file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 3.2 APPEARANCE The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Corporate Design master sample. 3.3 FABRIC PERFORMANCE
5、 In addition to the requirements listed herein, the fabric shall meet all requirements of WSS-M8P18-B1/B2/B3/B4/latest as applicable. 3.4 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values are based on material conditioned for not less than 24 h prior to testing in a controlled environment of 23 +/- 2
6、 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 Purchase departments
11、will ensure that the material defined in this specification and shipped to any one assembly plant will be produced by one supplier only. In the event of a Global Program or regional duplication, each regional location of the supplier for this specification must provide a construction package and be
12、approved to meet this specification. The fabric must also meet the requirements o
13、f WSS-M8P18-B1/B2/B3/B4/latest. 4.3 Global strategy for this fabric is to use tri-laminate/foam & scrim construction in all regions. 4.4 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Product Development, a
14、nd Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Tested material samples must be avai
15、lable for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.5 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONSIBILITY All materials must be eq
16、uivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier shall notify the affected Supplie
17、r Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications, all samples tested to the spec
18、ifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.6 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1/latest which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis. 5. SUMMARY OF REVISIONS
