2、s the adhesion requirements for an adhesive or anadhesive system suitable for structurally bonding rigid plastic (FlexuralModulus of greater than 2500 MPa) to ceramic paint coated glass.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for materials used to bondrigid plastic window frames to

3、ceramic paint coated glass for the 1996 PN-96 Backlight window module.Material systems meeting this performance specification are available fromthe responsible Materials Engineering Activity. Any modification orsubstitution of components of a material system or any new material systemwill require co

4、mplete specification compliance certification by theresponsible Materials Engineering Activity.Compliance with this performance specification does not guarantee theadhesive system will function for all potential applications on a vehicle.The specific assembly must be evaluated for functional perform

5、ancerequirements and its durability verified by the responsible MaterialsEngineering Activity prior to its release.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSMaterial suppliers and part producers must conform to Quality SystemRequirements, QS-9000. Material specification requirements are tobe use

6、d for initial qualification of materials. A Control Plan forongoing production verification is required. This plan must bereviewed and approved by the relevant Ford Materials activity and/orFord Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) prior to production partssubmission. Appropriate statistical tools mu

7、st be used to analyzeprocess/product data and assure consistent processing of thematerials.Part producers using this material in their products, must use Fordapproved materials and must conform to a process control plan whichhas been approved by STA and/or the relevant Materials Activity.3.2 CONDITI

8、ONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on material conditionedin a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested underthe same conditions unless otherwise specified.NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN2016

15、omposition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchcha nges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials En gineering

16、activity of the proposed changesand ob tain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this documen

17、t. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1,unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on theengineering document for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMater ials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Mate

18、rials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaff ected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringact ivity a completed copy of th

19、eir laboratory test reports, signed by aqu alified and authorized representative of the test facility,demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of thisspecification (test results, not nominal values), The material designationand code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Ford

20、sengine ering approval of a material will be based on its performance tothis spe cification and on an assessment of suitability for intendedprocesses and/or applications. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information g

21、iven below is provided for clarification and assistancein meeting the requirements of this specification.5.1 SUBSTRATESSub strates meeting this specification are listed as aco mponent of the material/adhesive system and are available fromthe responsible Materials Engineering Activity.5.2 CURE PROCEDURESAdhesive cure schedule shall conform to requirements called out inthe corresponding Engineering Material Specification.
