SCOPE These specifications define the physical property and performance requirements for polyolefin based positive locking fasteners. Type I Pop-in/Slide-in mushroom stem fastener fitting into a hole or slot. Type II Rig
5、id back mushroom stem fastener attached to a substrate using a mechanical fastener such as (rivet, screw, metal clip, etc.). Type III Mushroom stem fastener backed with acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive. Type IV Plain back mushroom stem fastener attached by methods such as stapling, sewing, ultras
6、onic or thermo-pneumatic welding, adhesives, etc. Type V Mushroom stem fastener with a non-woven backing attached to a substrate using adhesives such as hot melts, epoxies, etc. Type VI Mushroom stem fastener backed with acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive to be used for applications below the beltl

APPLICATION These specifications were released originally to provide attachment requirements for interior and exterior trim component fasteners. The trim assembly must also meet the
8、 requirements of the applicable material and/or performance specifications. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1.1 Stem Density, stems

10、 kPa minimum Test Method: Clean and prepare a 38.1 mm x 38.1 mm rigid aluminum test panel to obtain optimal performance for the attachment method chosen. Alternatively a 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm aluminum “T” block can be cleaned and prepared for use as this test panel. Attach a 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm Type III,
11、IV, V or VI reclosable fastener sample, using a firm attachment method to ensure that the fastener remains flat and parallel to the above panel. Roll down the applied fastener, three times in each direction with a 6.8 kg roller to obtain contact. Allow sample to dwell for the recommended amount of t
12、ime per chosen attachment method. Clean and prepare a 50.8 mm x 50.8 mm rigid aluminum test panel to obtain optimum performance for the attachment method chosen. Attach a 38.1 mm x 38.1 mm sample of a Type III, IV, V or VI reclosable fastener, using a firm attachment method to ensure that the fasten
13、er remains flat and parallel, to the above panel. Roll down the applied fastener, three times in each direction with a 6.8 kg roller to obtain contact. Keep any obvious rows of stems aligned in parallel. Carefully and fully engage the two samples to get a 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm (645.2 mm2) overlap. Disengag
15、e the samples in a tensile machine at 23 +/- 2 C and a crosshead speed of 305 mm/minutes using a suitable fixture. An average of five samples should be reported. Apply an amount of pressure and dwell time before testing as recommended by the manufacturer of the chosen attachment method. Starting at the center and one end of the other
18、panel attach a 38.1 mm x 38.1 mm Type III, IV, V or VI reclosable fastener sample, using a firm attachment method that ensures the fastener remains flat and parallel, to the above panel. Apply an amount of pressure and dwell time before testing as recommended by the manufacturer of the chosen attach
19、ment method. Align the 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm reclosable fastener sample at the bottom and center of the 38.1 mm x 38.1 mm reclosable fastener. Keep any obvious rows of stems aligned in parallel. Carefully and fully engage the two samples to give a 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm (645.2 mm2) overlap. Fixture the ends
20、of the two aluminum panels, opposite the engaged reclosable fasteners, into the jaws of a tensile machine in such a manner as to keep the two plates parallel to each other and parallel to the direction of separation during disengagement. Disengage the samples in a tensile machine at 23 +/- 2 C and a
21、 crosshead speed of 305 mm/minute using a suitable fixture. An average of five samples should be reported. Type III N/cm width, minimum 13 Type VI N/cm width, minimum 6.5 Test Method: Clean
23、 and prepare a 50.8 mm x 152.4 mm rigid aluminum substrate to obtain optimal performance for the chosen adhesive. Bond a 25.4 mm x 203.8 mm strip of a Type III or Type VI reclosable fastener to the substrate allowing the strip to overlap the end of the alumium substrate about 76 mm for gripping in t
24、he tensile jaw. Roll down the applied fastener, with a 6.8 kg roller, three times in each direction to ensure contact with the substrate. Allow to dwell at 23 +/- 2 C for a minimum of 72 hours. Peel each strip at a 90 degree angle from the substrate in a tensile machine at 305 mm/minute. Record the
25、average peel force between 25.4 mm and 101.6 mm. Report the average of 5 specimens. 3.2.2 Adhesive Static Shear, Type III minimum 24 hours Type VI minimum 6 hours Test Method: Clean and prepare a 50.8 mm x 76.2 mm rigid aluminum panel substrate, to obtain optimal performance for the chosen adhesive.
26、 Bond a 25.4 mm x 25.4 mm area of a 25.4 mm x 152.4 mm strip of Type III or Type VI reclosable fastener to the bottom center of the substrate. Roll down the strip three times in each direction, using a 6.8 kg roller, to ensure contact with the substrate. Allow to dwell at 23 +/- 2 C for a minimum of
27、 72 hours, or the time suggested by the manufacturer for the adhesive system. Fold the overhanging part of the strip onto itself and staple forming a loop into which a shear hook is inserted. The substrate is placed in a shear stand at 82 C and a 750 gram weight is added to the shear hook. Record th
28、e time in hours for the load to drop, or 24 hours whichever occurs first.
