4、 a uniformly grey appearance exhibiting fine random porosity with no breaks, oxide films, smearing, cracks or lifting. 6、irection 0.4 mm max 3.8 ADHESION The cohesion of molybdenum particles and the adhesion of coating to the base metal shall be determined by expansion test. For piston ring applications, adhesion quality shall be judged on the appearance change before and after expansion test. Rings shall be visually

7、examined for flakes, cracks, lifting and lack of interface bond and then heated to 300 C for 30 minutes before being uniformly expanded to increase the ring gap to a distance equal to a third of the ring diameter. No change in visual features previously mentioned will demonstrate adequate adhesion f
