2、42-A 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a special brass which is restricted in its analysis for the purpose of increasing the wear resistance. 2. APPLICATION This material is used for manufacturing synchronizer blocking rings for transmissions. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIR
3、EMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION (Weight Percent) Cu 57.0 - 59.0 Al 1.3 - 2.2 Mn 1.5 - 2.4 Si 0.3 - 0.9 Pb 0.2 - 0.8 Fe max. 0.7 Sn max. 0.5 Ni
4、max. 0.5 Zn balance Composition shall be selected from within the above range to meet the microstructural phase, content and size distribution. Specific composition limits foundry and forging practice to meet performance and manufacturing requirements will form part of an agreed Control Plan for ind
5、ividual component geometries and process routes. 3.3 HEAT TREATMENT After hot pressing the blanks shall be stress relieved at 350 - 480 C in order to achieve structural stability. 3.4 HARDNESS 140 - 170 HB (ASTM E 10) (2.5/62.5) 3.5 GRAIN SIZE (ASTM E 112, Plate IV, 100:1) 3 or finer 3.6 MICROSTRUCTURE The structure shall consist of a mixture of alpha and beta grains (alpha 10-40% by area), with an intermetallic compound (irregular rod shaped) uniformly distributed throughout the matrix.
