SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a long life, high temperature, coolant resistant, moderate pressure silicone hose. 2. APPLICATION The specification was released originally for a hose connection betwee

3、n the radiator and engine block where a hose cover temperature up to 230 C may be encountered and good resistance to compressive creep under securing clamps is required. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Compa

4、nys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CONSTRUCTION The hose shall consist of a high temperature resistant silicone elastomeric tube and cover, reinforced with one or more plies of braided, knitted, spiral, or woven aramid fabric. 3.3 MATERIAL TESTING 3.3.1 Preparat

5、ion of Test Specimens Whenever possible, all test specimens shall be die-cut from the finished parts. When not feasible, specimens cut from molded test sheets manufactured from the same material and with equivalent state of cure to molded parts are recommended. The test sheets shall have the followi

13、ples of each hose design, selected at random from production, shall be tested to prove compliance with this requirement. All hoses 300 mm or less in total length shall be tested as received. Hoses longer than 300 mm may be cut to 300 mm for test purposes (test sample to include the most extreme bend

14、 if hose is formed). 3.13.2 Test Procedure The samples shall be subjected to a total of 200 internal pressure pulses at a rate of 6 to 8 pressure cycles/min with initial pressure between 0 and 276 kPa then increased over a period of 3 to 6 s to the peak pressure tabulated below for each hose size. S

15、pecified coolant mixture (see Para. 4.1) maintained at 100 +/- 5 C shall be circulated through the hose during test. Hose I.D. Peak Pressure 25 300 8 x I.D. 16、ws: a) Supplier identification code. b) Date of manufacture (week, year) and plant designation if supplier has more then one plant producing hoses to this specification. No space between letters. Mandatory on hoses longer then 80 mm only. c) Ford trademark on hoses longer then 150 mm. d) All of the

17、above printing shall be clearly and legibly printed letters of 4.5 - 6 mm in height and width. When hose is less then 80 mm long, width of letters may be reduced to 3 mm. The following code format is recommended, but not mandatory: G 2 01 Where: G = Plant Designation 2 = Year (single digit) 01 = Wee

18、k (2-digit number) 3.17 SOURCE IDENTIFICATION (NAAO requirement only) Each part shall have the suppliers identification which may be either the R.M.A. plateau and pyramid symbols or the R.M.S. assigned color thread in the knit or braid reinforcement. The polymer stripe may be used with either above
