SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a sintered and heat treated nickel-molybdenum steel. 2. APPLICATION This specification defines P/M exhaust val

3、ve seats for internal combustion engines. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION, weight % (ASTM A 751/ASTM E 1019)

4、 Total Carbon 0.60 - 1.00 Molybdenum 2.0 - 5.0 Nickel 1.5 - 3.0 Others 1.0 total, 0.3 max each individual element Iron Balance 3.3 DENSITY, g/cc 6.9 min (ISO 2738/ASTM B 328) 3.4 HARDNESS (ISO 4498/ASTM E 18) 3.4.1 Apparent Hardness HRB 92 min (Average of minimum of five readings taken on the wide f

5、ace surface; no individual reading shall be less than RB87) 3.5 MICROSTRUCTURE (ASTM E 3) The microstructure shall consist of grains of brown etching pearlite and tempered martensite in a white etching nickel steel matrix. Inter-granular oxides will be present in this material. 3.6 SURFACE CONDITION Surfaces shall be free of scale and rust. Nicks, cracks, burrs and depressions shall not exceed 0.25 mm in any direction. Visual inspection is to be performed under white light without the aid of magnification.
