SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a sintered and steam treated copper steel. 2. APPLICATION This specification defines Powder Metal intak

3、e valve seats for internal combustion engines. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION, weight % (ASTM A 751/ASTM E

4、1019) Total Carbon 0.60 - 0.90 Molybdenum 0.62 - 0.87 Nickel 0.30 - 0.60 Copper 1.75 - 2.25 Manganese 0.50 - 0.90 Silicon 0.20 max Others 1.0 total, 0.3 max each individual element Iron Balance 3.3 DENSITY, g/cc 6.6 min (ISO 2738/ASTM B 328) 3.4 HARDNESS (ISO 4498/ASTM E 18) 3.4.1 Apparent Hardness

5、HRB 92 - 105 (Average of minimum of five readings taken on the wide face surface; no individual reading shall be less than RB85) 3.5 MICROSTRUCTURE (ASTM E 3) The microstructure shall consist of tempered martensite, some pearlite and free, well dispersed ferrite. There shall be an oxide layer outlin

6、ing the pores from the steam treatment. 3.6 SURFACE CONDITION Surfaces shall be free of scale and rust. Nicks, cracks, burrs and depressions shall not exceed 0.25 mm in any direction. Visual inspection is to be performed under white light without the aid of magnification.
