SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an unmodified silicone rubber (VMQ) of good tear strength, suitable for gaskets

3、 with the ability to perform at service temperatures between - 65 to + 200 C. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for use as oil pan and front cover gaskets. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to

4、 the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 MATERIAL TESTING 3.4.1 Preparation of Test Specimens Whenever possible, all test specimens shall be prepared from the finished parts using a “band-knife splitter“ according to ASTM D 3183 and die-cut according to the

5、methods referenced below. The report shall include the method(s) used in specimen preparation and their resultant thickness. When it is not feasible to prepare specimens from finished parts, molded test sheets manufactured from the same material and with equivalent cure to molded parts may be used.

6、The test sheets shall have the following dimensions: 150 x 150 mm, min x 2.0 +/- 0.2 mm 3.4.2 Hardness, International 53 - 65 (ISO 48/ASTM D 1415) 3.4.3 Hardness, Durometer A 55 - 65 points (ISO 868/ASTM D 2240, plied-up specimen) 3.4.4 Tensile Strength, min 6.0 MPa (ISO 37/ASTM D 412, Die C) 3.4.5
