REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable C

Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 COATINGProduced by conversion of the metal surface to black iron oxide.3.3 COATING TH
4、ICKNESSThe coating is a combination of etching and an oxide formation withessentially no build-up on the part.3.4 CORROSION PROTECTIONParts shall be dipped i n a rust preventive oil after treatment. Therust pr eventive oil must meet the requirements of a current Fordmateria l specification. Suitable

GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for clarification and assistancein meeting the requirements of this specification.5.1 METHODThe following has been found to produce a satisfactory oxide finish.Place parts in a steam atmosphere furnace at approximately 540 C for30 minutes.
