SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a composite blend of alumina-silica ceramic fibers, unexpanded vermiculite and an acrylic latex binder. 2. APPLICATION This specification was r

3、eleased originally for material used as a support and seal for the ceramic monolith used in the catalytic converter. This specification replaces and supersedes ESE-M96B69-A2. When ESE-M96B69-A2 is shown on other documents, the requirements of this specification apply. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD RE

4、QUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 COMPOSITION, % 3.1.1 Alumina-silica Fibers 30 - 45 (See test method below) 3.1.2 Expanded Vermiculite 45 - 60 (See test method b

5、elow) 3.1.3 Loss on Ignition 6 - 13 (See test method below) Test Method: Qualitative determination of the alumina-silica fibers and expanded vermiculite is accomplished by ICP analysis. Quantitative analysis is determined by placing 645 mm2samples in an oven set at 110 C for 24 h. Remove and weigh s

6、amples. Place in furnace set at 900 C for 1 h.
