SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements of adhesive foam tapes used for exterior au
3、tomotive applications. The tapes have one side with a pressure sensitive adhesive and one side with either pressure sensitive or heat activatable adhesive, specially designed to bond to rubber materials. The pressure sensitive adhesive side is protected by either release paper or polymer liner. The

APPLICATION This specification was released originally to define adhesion performance requirements for automotive weatherstrip application. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREM
5、ENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 PREPARATION OF TEST SPECIMENS Test Specimens shall be prepared from production weatherstrip parts and painted steel panels, prepared a

Note: In case of differences between the results of Florida exposure and accelerated weathering, the Florida results shall take precedence. 3.5 ADHESION Adhesion shall be
12、 tested after aging per para 3.4. Tests shall be performed within 5 minutes after end of the exposure (except 3.4.8.). Report type of failure (cohesive/adhesive failure of the tape as well as substrate failure) in the Initial Sample Report. The figures required below are only relevant if adhesion of
13、 tape to substrate is greater than the internal strength of the weatherstrip material. Influence of substrate material to test results, e.g. plasticizer migration, shall not be reason for rejection of adhesive tape, if the tape meets all specification requirements on an inert substrate. These result

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MOUNTING . Only apply tape to absolutely clean and dry surface. . Mating
23、 surface should be matched (contoured or parallel) to ensure 100% contact of the bond area. . Once tape is applied to part and has been bonded and for any reason removed, it shall not be reused. . If the adhesive surface of the tape becomes soiled, the tape-backed part shall not be used unless tape is replaced. . The adhesive side of the tape shall not be touched or handled once the release liner has been removed.
