2、efines perf ormance requirements of adhesive foam tapesused for exterior automotive applications. The tapes have two sides withtwo side pressure sensitive adhesive and are protected by either releasepaper or polymer liner.The tap es may be used in combination with a suitable primer which wouldspecif

3、ied separately on the Engineering drawing.2. APPLICATIONThis s pecification was released originally to define adhesion performancerequirements for automotive bumper inserts.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutu

4、ally acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein ar

5、e based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.3. PREPARATION OF TEST SPECIMENSTest Specimens shall be prepared from production bumper i

6、nserts andeithe r unpainted bumper parts or painted parts, freshly preparedusing current approved production paint materials.The sur faces to be bonded shall be cleaned with isopropanol/water(1:1) and dry wiped prior to applying the tape. The Tape shall beapplied to the weatherstrip sample surface w

8、3.3 to each of the following conditionsbefore testing per para 3.5.3.4.1 Humidity Aging14 d at 38 +/- 2 C, 98 +/- 2 % RH3.4.2 Heat Aging14 d at 90 C +/- 2 C;Reconditioning: 1 h at 23 C and 50 +/- 5 % RH3.4.3 Paint Repair Oven30 minutes at 120 C +/- 2 C;Reconditioning: 1 h at 23 C and 50 +/- 5 % RH3.

9、4.4 Environmental Cycling(FLTM BQ 104-07, Procedure 5) 3.4.5 Immersion: Wax/Dewaxing FluidUse current production waxing and dewaxing compounds asfollow s: Immerse 1 minute in protective wax compound andcondition f or 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C. Remove wax coating byim mersing 1 h 60 +/- 2 C into dewaxing co

Allow tocool down to room temperature.3.4.6 Immersion: Fuel C(ISO 1817, liquid 4, 1 h at 23 +/- 2 C)3.4.7 Accelerated Weathering 2000 h(SAE J1960)3.4.8 Florida Exposure 2 years(FLTM BI 160-01, 5 deg south, directweathering)Thi s applies to Initial Approval only. Initial approvalswill b e bas

Influence of substrate material to test results, e.g.plasticizer migration, shall not be reason for rejection of adhesivetape, i f the tape meets all specification requirements on an inertsubst rate. 22、ally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall not

23、ify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regu

24、lations or Ford isap plicable to the materials addressed by this document. An EngineeringMaterial Approved Source listin g is not applicable for this specification.Produc t Engineering materials re

26、ferenced in this document and/or theaffected engineering drawing, which require prior Engine ering approval, aresh own in the Engineering Material Approved Source List under thespecification cited.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information below is provided for clarification and assistance inmeeting the

27、requirements of this specification.5.1 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR MOUNTING. Only apply tape to absolutely clean and dry surface. Mating surface should be matched (contoured or parallel) to ensure100 % contact of the bond area. Once tape is applied to part and has been bonded and for any reasonremoved, it shall not be reused. If the adhesive surface of the tape becomes soiled, the tape-backedpart shall not be used unless tape is replaced. The adhesive side of the tape shall not be touched or handled oncethe release liner has been removed.
