2、(140 +/- 2 C) butyl rubber sealer with polyisobutyleneplasticizer.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used for bondingand sealing of door weatherstrip to roof.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSuppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStan

3、dard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISF

4、ord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/orthermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shallconstitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All sa

5、mples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned ina controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity

Apply sealer at a temperature of 140 +/- 2 C to an area of20 x 25 mm and a thi ckness of 1 mm on the end of the testpanel and immediately bond a 4 x 25 x 125 mm rubber slab(WSD-M2D405-A1) to the sealer. Test shear adhesion at a

13、 rate of pull of 25 mm/minute andcalculate in kPa.3.12 PEEL ADHESION, min 5.5 N/cm(FLTM BU 151-01, Method B1, 1a, y = 1 mm,except apply sealer at a temperature of 140+/- 2 C to a test panel and cover immediatelywith a rubber plate according to WSD-M2D405-A1in a thickness of 1 mm)3.13 COMPRESSION LOA

14、D 350 to 840 N(FLTM BU 114-01, thickness 6 mm, width 8 mm)3.14 REPAIR OVEN STABILITYSpeci mens, prepared according to 3.10, shall show no evidence ofblistering after exposure in mechanical convecti on oven maintained at120 +/- 2 C for 30 minutes. Expose test assemblies in a mechanical convected air-drying ovenat 80 +/- 2 C for two weeks.3.16 QUALITYThe material shall be of uniform quality, free f rom foreign materialsand properties detrimental to normal producti

17、on use.3.17 STORAGE STABILITY 12 months(From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company)When stored out of dire ct sunlight at ambient temperatures between 5C and 32 C3.18 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSSpecific requirements for material and/or manufa ctured parts shall bespecified on the Engineering drawing, En

18、gineerin g parts specificationand/or performance specifications. All critical areas with respect tothese properties shall be clearly designated on the engineeringdrawing.3.19 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the materia

19、l upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir

20、 ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance re

21、strictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford isap plicable to the materials addressed by this document. Therestrictions are defined in Engineering Material SpecificationWSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) isspecified on the engineering document for the application.ENGINEERI

APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from th

23、eaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compl

24、iance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. In addition to meeting therequi rements of this specification, the materials will be assessed forsuita bility for intended applications as part of the approval process.Upo n approval, the material will be added to the Engineering MaterialApproved Source List.
