SCOPEThe mat erial defined by this specification is a solvent based stone pe

2、ckprotective baking primer for exterior automotive applications.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used as stone chippr otection primer over baked EC surfaces on certain areas of bodies orassemb lies where high stone chip resistance is required. The material isdesi

3、gned for baking together with primer surfacer.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must

4、be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra

5、and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONI

6、NGAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.4 COMPOSITION3.4.1 Resin: Solvent borne synthetic re

21、l meet all requirements of performancespecifications for Vehicle Body WSK-M2P136-A.3.13 QUALITYThe primer must be adaptable for application in accordance withappropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specification U-C800.The primer must be compatible with all related materials e.g.,sealers, adhesives,

22、electrocoat primers, primer surfacer and top coatmaterials.3.14 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstr

23、uction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the

24、 proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restricti

APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specific

26、ation must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affecte

27、d Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd

28、code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for i ntended processes and/or applications. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material A

29、pprovedSource List.5.
