2、ased stone peckprotective baking primer for exterior automotive applications.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used as stone chipprotec tion primer over baked EC surfaces on engine hoods to improve stonechip r esistance. The material is designed for baking togethe

3、r with primersurfacer.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze proce

4、ss/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms establis

5、hed for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONINGAll test values indica

6、ted herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.4 COMPOSITION3.4.1 Resin: PU - modified solvent borne synthetic resins.3.4.2

14、 panels prepared under this specification shall be agedfor at least 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 h at 45 +/- 1 C beforetesting for resistance properties.3.7 APPEARANCE (Primer only)Col our, gloss and surface finish shall match master Trim Sampleand/or Master Appearance Sample as approved by Design.3.7.1

22、48-b Page 5 of 6 3.12 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSTest Panels and painted parts prepared according to thisspecification shall meet all requirements of performancespecifications for Vehicle Body WSK-M2P136-A.3.13 QUALITYThe primer must be adaptable for application in accordance withappropriate Ford Motor

23、Company Process Specification U-C800.The primer must be compatible with all related materials e.g.,sealers, adhesives, electrocoat primers, primer surfacer and top coatmaterials.3.14 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the

24、 material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co nstruction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificati

25、onrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Sub

26、stance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPRO

27、VAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffect ed Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Up

28、onrequest, the supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecimen s for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engi
