APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for cylinder head gaskets.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROC

3、ESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is

4、continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference

5、standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSPrior to testing, the materials shall be conditioned in an

6、oven at100 +/- 2 C for 1 h and allowed to cool to 23 +/ - 2 C in a desiccatorcontaining anhydrous ca lcium chloride. All tests shall be conductedin accordance with ASTM F 104, Type 1 material unless otherwisespeci fied. The requirements of this specification are valid forgasket material of 1.6 to 1.

7、8 mm thickness. 8、the steelsheet. The assembly is covered with a barrier anticorrosive sealingco at. 17、 the properties, composition,co nstruction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected M

18、aterials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe mat erials addre

19、ssed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval b

20、y theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffect ed Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity

21、its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecimen s for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information below
