A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation
4、 in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallc
5、onst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSPrior to testing, the materials sh
6、all be conditioned in an oven at100 +/- 2 C for 1 h and allowed to cool to 23 +/ - 2 C in a desiccatorcontaining anhydrous ca lcium chloride. All tests shall be conductedin accordance with ASTM F 104, Type 1 material unless otherwisespeci fied. The requirements of this specification are valid forgas
7、ket material of 1.5 to 2.5 mm thickness. Test data, test samples and a new code i
14、dentification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe mat erials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specif
15、ication must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affec
16、ted Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a n
17、d code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended process and/or application. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.
