3、REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSup pliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedthe rein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatistical tools must be used to analyze process /product data so thatvar
4、iation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct in frared and/or thermalanaly sis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The IRspe ctra and thermograms established for initial approval
5、 shallconsti tute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material labo ratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that cor respond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS OF FIBER MATAll tests sha
6、ll be conducted in accordance with ASTM F 104 type 7materi al unless otherwise specified. The air in the chamber shall be circulatedby gentle mechanical agit ation.

12、 erials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inall characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,cons truction, color, processing or labeling of the materialor iginally approved under this specificatio
13、n, whether or not suchchan ges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequ irements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obt ain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data,
14、 tes t samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions im posed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMa
15、terials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppl iers desiring approval oftheir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffe cted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest , the Supp
16、lier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivi ty a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the tes t facility, demonstratingfull compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values)
17、, the material designa tion and code number, andtest specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amaterial will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications. Uponapproval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.
