SCOPE The materials defined by these specifications are formable, non-heat treatable 5XXX series (magnesium based) aut

3、obody aluminum sheet alloys. Four distinct variants are identified: A1 consideration should be given to specifying the next lowest minimum gage, e.g. for an existing 0.95 mm nominal gage, the nearest equivalent minimum gage in ES-YC15-1N260-AB is 0.90 mm. Additionally it may be necessary to consult

6、for material intended for class 2 and 3 surface applications supplied to FAO in North America. * WSK-M2P136-A is pertinent for material intended for class 1, 2, and 3 surface applications supplied to FAO in Europe. 5.6 FORMABILITY The current responsible area for the SMRL (within Ford Motor Company

7、in Europe) is Vehicle Engineering & Product DNA, Materials Engineering and Testing (ME&T). The current responsible area for the SMRL (within Jaguar Cars) is Materials Engineering. The SMRL may refer to national or international standards. 5.7 METHOD OF SPECIFYING The specification on the Engineering

8、 Drawing shall include, if applicable, the surface quality per ES-F75B-11007-AA, pretreatment per WSS-M10P12-A and forming lubricant (JMS 20.19.10 for Jaguar) e.g. Aluminum, autobody sheet, bare, for a hood inner, would be specified as: WSS-M2A163-A3, Class 2, bare, lubricated (JMS 20.19.10 for Jagu

9、ar) e.g. Aluminum, autobody sheet, bare, for a heat shield, would be specified as: WSS-M2A163-A4, Class 3, bare e.g. Aluminum, autobody sheet, 105MPa., pretreated for adhesive bonding, for a structural member, would be specified as: WSS-M2A163-A2, Class 3, pretreated to WSS-M10P12-A, lubricated (JMS

10、 20.19.10 for Jaguar) e.g. Aluminum, autobody sheet, 85MPa., pre-treated for adhesive bonding, for door opening panel with visible A-post, would be specified as: WSS-M2A163-A1, Class 1, pretreated to WSS-M10P12-A, lubricated (JMS 20.19.10 for Jaguar) Note that A1 & A2 alloys can only be used for applications with limited Class-1 exposure such as door opening panels without an integrated quarter panel. They are not intended for closure panels, fenders, roofs or quarter panels.
