SCOPE This material specification defines the minimum acceptable performance requirements and physical/chemical properties of engine oils to be used in Ford Motor Company vehicles. 2. APPLICAT
3、ION This specification was released originally for service fill engine oils meeting the 1997 Model Vehicle Warranty Requirements. These materials are used for lubrication of spark ignition engines using gasolines and compressed natural gas. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MA
4、TERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 PERFORMANCE Shall meet all the requirements of “The ILSAC Minimum Performance Standard for Passenger car Engine Oils GF-2“ and shall be licensed to display
5、the API Certification Mark. 3.2 PHYSICAL/CHEMICAL PROPERTIES 3.2.1 Copper Corrosion, max 1b (Dark Orange) (ASTM D 130 or ISO 2160, 3 h at 100 C) 3.2.2 Gelation Index 8.5 max (ASTM D 5133, Scanning Brookfield) 3.2.3 Seal Compatibility Shall be compatible with all current production component material
6、s. 3.2.4 Foaming, Sequence IV 100/0 max (1 minute settling time) 3.3 Qualification It is the suppliers responsibility to have the technical evidence and documentation certifying that a given formulation (base oil/ additive combination) meets all requirements described in this specification. The affected Materials Engineering activity reserves the right to request certification documentation from any company claiming to meet this specification.
