SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a thermally stable, SAE 90, API GL 6 type axle lubricant using a mineral oil base fluid compounded with extreme pressure, anti-corrosion, anti-oxidant, and mechanical limited slip differential additives. 2. APP

3、LICATION This specification was released originally for material used to provide lubrication for highly loaded rear axles in commercial vehicles. The material has specific frictional characteristics for mechanical limited slip differentials and a very high level of anti-wear performance. The materia

4、l is not suitable for synchromesh transmissions due to the high reactivity of the anti-wear additive. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements for Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A).

5、 3.2 VISCOSITY 3.2.1 At 100 C , typical 19.5 mm2/s (ISO 3104) 3.2.2 At 40 C , typical 220 mm2/s (ASTM D 2983) 3.3 POUR POINT, typical -24 C (ISO 3016) 3.4 FLASH POINT, typical 150 C (ISO 2592) 3.5 MOISTURE Report (Any agreed method) 3.6 DENSITY Report (Any agreed method) 3.7 FUNCTIONAL APPROVAL Materials being evaluated for initial approval may be subjected to a functional trial. Functional trial results shall be evaluated by Commercial Vehicle Engineering prior to material approval and release.
