SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a pumpable one component, waterborne, rubber based, room temperature curing adhesive. 2. APP

3、LICATION This specification was originally released to bond a rigid foam headliner, backed with fiberglass scrim, to the roof interior sheet metal. The roof sheet metal can have varying degrees of phosphate, electrocoat, body primer, and/or topcoat overspray. Additionally, this material is applied a

4、nd cures in a room temperature environment. This specification replaces ESB-M2G355-A. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 UNCURED ADH

5、ESIVE PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Viscosity (FLTM BV 103-01, 2.64mm orifice, 140 kPa air pressure) . As received . 72 h at 54 +/- 3 C . 90 days at 23 +/- 2 C The viscosity tolerance for any one supplier shall be +/- 10s based on the viscosity of the original approved production sample. Refer to para 5.5. 3.4.2

7、r Volume (ASTM D 816) The weight tolerance for any one supplier shall be +/- 0.02 kg/L, based on the weight of the original approved production sample. Refer to para 5.4. 3.4.5 Sag, max 3 mm (FLTM BV 118-01, with exceptions) Test Method: . Apply a 76 mm long right triangular shaped bead of material

8、6 mm wide at the base and 15 mm high on a E-coated panel prepared per para 5.2.3. . Place the panel at a 60 angle from the horizontal and let it air dry for 30 minutes at room temperature then measure the sag. 3.4.6 Pressure Stability The material shall not (SAE J1864) cake or harden 3.4.7 Storage S

9、tability 3.4.7.1 Storage, Shelf Life and Conditioning Shall be stored at ambient room temperature below 40 C, away from all sources of heat, such as ovens, direct sunlight, etc. Shall not be stored outside. Under these storage conditions, the maximum shelf life to the material, from date of shipment

10、 from the supplier, shall be 3 months. The supplier must label each container to indicate the expiration date of the materials, and production usage beyond the expiration date is not permitted. When stored a temperatures below 23 C, it must be conditioned at room temperature for 72 h prior to use. 3

11、.4.7.2 Freeze Sensitivity Test product to freeze/thaw test (3 cycles of 16 h at - 30 C and 8 h at 25 C). Any products that are found to be not workable or show degradation of adhesive properties after completion of the test must be shipped and stored in a manner to prevent freezing, and drums must b

12、e labeled with a freeze sensitive indicator. After curing, the material must be relatively non-odorous. 3.4.9 Fogging (SAE J1756,

13、3 h at 100 C bath, 21 C cooling plate) Fog Number, min 60 Formation of clear film, droplets or crystals is cause for rejection. Cured samples shall be tested. 3.4.10 Quality Shall be a smooth homogenous mixture free from foreign materials and properties detrimental to normal production operation. 3.

14、4.11 Pumpability Plant Equipment Simulation: Pumpability of material shall be determined prior to plant used by evaluating its pumpability in equipment simulating the plant system. 3.4.12 Corrosion Test - Donut Test There shall be no evidence of red rust at any location under the sealer ribbon. Test

15、 Method: . Apply a 25 x 1.5 mm ribbon of material to bare steel per para 52.2 to form a ring (donut) 80 mm outside diameter. . Place a polyester sheet over the adhesive ribbon within 30 minutes after application. . Cure the samples for 7 days at 23 +/- 2 C. . After cure, expose the samples to the fo

16、llowing cycle test: 16 h at 90 +/- 2 C followed by 8 h at 23 +/- 2 C (10 cycles total) . Examine each sample daily and observe for any visible evidence of corrosion or discoloration. . Upon completion of the thermal cycles, remove the sealer ribbon and examine surface of metal for evidence of corros

18、ls, grease, etc.). 3.6 CURED ADHESIVE PROPERTIES 3.6.1 Flexibility No cracks on a 25 mm Mandrel Test Method: ASTM F 147, except condition a 150 mm long x 25 mm wide x 3 mm thick sample for 120 h at 23 +/- 2 C unless otherwise specified. At Temperature Testing - condition samples for the time and tem

19、perature specified and test at that temperature. . 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C . After 24 h at - 30 +/- 1 C . After 30 minutes at 120 +/- 1 C (15 h material cure only). Conditioned Specimen Testing - Age and condition samples as specified below. Condition aged samples 30 minutes at 23 +/- 1 C prior to flexib

20、ility test. Test at 23 +/- 1 C. . Heat aged 2 weeks at 90 +/- 2 C. . Thermal cycle - 5 cycles One cycle consists of: 4 h at 90 +/- 2 C 4 h at 38 +/- 1 C and 98 +/- 2 % relative humidity 16 h at - 30 +/- 1 C 3.6.2 Hardness After Curing, +/- 5 from initial Durometer “A“ material approval (ASTM D 2240)

21、 Test Method: Flow enough material into a container (such as an ointment tin) to give cured section 5 mm thick. Cure for 120 h at room temperature and check the instantaneous hardness. GENERAL INFORMATION The information below is provided for clarification and

23、assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 MECHANICAL CONVECTION OVEN The mechanical convection oven(s) used to cure the material shall be capable of obtaining 205 +/- 3 C metal temperature on body steel gage thickness in 10 minutes. 5.2 SUBSTRATES 5.2.1 Headliner: A fiberglas

24、s backed rigid headliner core with a nominal thickness of 22 mm. 5.2.2 Galvanized Steel meeting WSB-M1A250-C3-60G60G-EL: 0.80 mm nominal thickness. The following substrates listed below shall be used for testing: . Bare steel (cleaned only) . Phosphate only . Phosphate + E-Coat Primer . Phosphate +
