SCOPE These specifications define the performance requirements of coated steel wheels. 2. APPLICATION These specifications define two levels of coating quality. WSS-M2P122-
3、B1: Describes a coating system (primer only) which provides moderate corrosion resistance of 10 Cycles Cyclic Corrosion. Wheels coated to this level of protection are typically found mounted as a spare tire in the vehicle trunk or on the tailgate. WSS-M2P122-B2: Describes a coating system which prov
4、ides exceptional corrosion protection to 60 Cycles of Cyclic Corrosion. These wheels are visible and mounted in vehicle position. They can include a color topcoat. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys St
5、andard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SAMPLE SELECTION Test shall be conducted on flat test pieces cut from production wheels. Test panels are acceptable but must be painted on the same system as the production wheels. 3.3 COATING Shall be a continuous film, free of blis
6、ters, bubbles, foreign material and similar imperfections. 3.4 FILM THICKNESS (FLTM BI 117-01, Eddy Mag 2000/Oxford CM1700 or equivalent) Coating thickness must be sufficient to meet all requirements of this specification. Each coating manufacturers thickness requirements are to be specified on the
7、applicators Control Plan. Maximum coating thicknesses (initial and after any repair process), must meet the hub/pilot gap requirements as outlined in the wheel ES specification. 8、es, LLC Page 2 of 3 3.5 INITIAL HARDNESS Production parts shall be sufficiently cured (per manufacturers recommendation) at time of packing to withstand normal handling without marring. 3.6 COLOR As determined (FLTM BI 109-01 Visual Assessment; by Color Harmony SAE J1545, Three-Angle CMC Team) Shall
