SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are bulked continuous filament (BCF) nylon, cut pile carpets, tufted into a synthetic primary foundation. It is then laminated with a filled, post industrial thermoplastic to a synthetic
3、backing for improved rigidity and strength. This carpet is solution dyed. 2. APPLICATION This material was released originally for carpets used for trim applications. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabricated) shall me
4、et all requirements of the WSS-M8P16-A performance specification for trim applications. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SAMPLE SELECTION All eval
5、uations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior to any subsequent operations, such as reheating or molding. 3.3 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineeri

7、logies, LLC Page 2 of 2 3.6 CONSTRUCTION 3.6.1 Pile Yarn (ASTM D 1577) 105 - 115 tex t0 (nylon, crimped textured, bulked continuous filament, 1.0 1.5 tex). 3.6.2 Pile Count, minimum (ASTM D 5793) Rows 48.0/100 mm Stitches 46.4/100 mm Rows and stitches per 100 mm shall be based on an average count on
8、 a 254 mm length of carpet. 3.6.3 Foundation Materials Primary (Tufting Foundation) 100% Polyester or 75%/25% PET/PA6* *As specified on the approved source list 3.6.4 Back coating The filled, post industrial thermoplastic shall form a continuous and uniform coating over the back of the carpet so tha
9、t all pile fibers are covered. The filled, post industrial thermoplastic shall be thoroughly melted and shall maintain its ability to lock in the pile fibers in the end-item, molded carpet assembly. The filled, post industrial thermoplastic shall thoroughly saturate the base of the pile fiber bundle
10、s to ensure adequate tuft lock.
