SCOPE The material defined in this specification is a bulked continuous filament (BCF) nylon, cut pile carpets, tufted into a synthetic primary foundation. It is then laminated with a filled, post industrial thermoplast
3、ic to a synthetic backing for improved rigidity and strength. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for back panel applications. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabricated) shall me
4、et all requirements of the WSS-M8P16-A performance specification for trim applications, except 3.16 Original Tuft Pull Strength which shall be 10 N minimum, and any requirements specified on the engineering drawing. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part produ
5、cers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SAMPLE SELECTION All evaluations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior to any operations, such as reheating or molding. 3.3 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color
6、, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 9、ed on the Approved Source List. 3.5.4 Backcoating The backcoat shall form a continuous and uniform coating over the back of the carpet so that all pile fibers are covered. The backcoat shall be thoroughly melted and shall maintain its ability to lock in the pile fibers in the end-item, molded carpet

The backcoat shall thoroughly saturate the base of the pile fiber bundles to ensure adequate tuft lock. Penetration of the backcoat through to the face shall be controlled to provide
