2、ials defined by this specification is a bulked continuous filament (BCF) nylon, cut pile carpets, tufted into a synthetic primary foundation. It is then precoated and laminated to a barrier material for improved fit and acoustical properties. 2. APPLICATION These materials were released originally f

3、or carpets used for full floor application as part of the Carpet Construction Strategy. 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, the end-item carpet assembly (molded or otherwise fabricated) shall meet all requirements of the WSS-M8P16-A performance specification for full floor

4、 applications and the Sound and Heat SDS. This carpet meets the Resistance to Abrasion requirements of 2,000 cycles, per WSS-M8P16-A para. 3.13, therefore, throw-in mats must be standard equipment or a heel pad must completely cover the areas most vulnerable to driver wear. 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS

5、 FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SAMPLE SELECTION All evaluations shall be conducted on test specimens taken from finished roll goods prior to any subsequent operations, s

6、uch as reheating or molding. 3.3 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 7、 Inc. 3.4 COMPOSITION (ASTM D 276) Pile Yarn Nylon Primary Foundation Material 100% polyester Precoat * * As specified on the Approved Source List. * As required to meet the tuft pull, fiber weight loss, abrasion requirements on the end item molded carpet per WSS-M8P16-A 3.4 CONSTRUCTION 3.4.1 Pile

8、Yarn (ASTM D 1577) 150 - 160 tex t0 (nylon, crimped textured, bulked continuous filament, 1.9 2.4 tex). 3.4.2 Pile Count, min. (ASTM D 5793) Rows 37.4/100 mm Stitches 35.5/100 mm Rows and stitches per 100 mm shall be based on an average count on a 254 mm length of carpet. 3.4.3 Foundation Materials

10、fibers are covered. The precoat shall be thoroughly melted and shall maintain its ability to lock in the pile fibers in the end-item, molded carpet assembly. The precoat shall thoroughly saturate the base of the pile fiber bundles to ensure adequate tuft lock. Penetration of the precoat through to t
