、 shall have the usual characteristic odor of diesel fuel. There shall be no obvious foreign odors. 3.18 ADDITIVES 3.18.1 The material shall contain normal commercial additives. A commercial corrosion inhibitor package is normally required to pass para 3.11.2 Rust Prevention and 3.15 Water Reaction,
、and a high level of lubricity modifier will be required as per para 3.19 to provide enhanced bedding-in performance for the fuel injection pump. 3.18.2 In addition to the multi-function additive package that is used to meet fuel performance requirements, the fuel must also be treated with a suppleme
、ntal additive that meets specification WSS-M99C133-A1. This additive is required to provide additional corrosion protection for fuel injectors. This additive must be added to the fuel at a nominal treat rate of 0.0150 % (150 ppm) active material by volume. Ford Fuels and Lubricants Engineering may a
、pprove other suitable additives that provide equivalent performance. The additive top treat should be performed by the fuel supplier. 3.19 LUBRICITY The material shall contain an ester based lubricity modifier in sufficient quantity such that when diluted at a ratio of 20:1 with a market typical EN5
、90 diesel, the resulting mixture will have a lubricity better than 0.400 mm when tested according to ISO 12156-1 (HFRR). Prior to mixing, the market typical EN590 diesel diluent fuel shall have a lubricity equal to or worse than 0.460 mm. Addition of the lubricity modifier to meet the above requirem
