2、 this specification is a one component thixo-tropic spreadable oxime based silicone rubber adhesive/sealant with goodheat and oil resistance. It cures progressively inward from the surfaceat room temperature absorbing water vapor in the air as the curingactivator.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was

3、 released originally for material used for wipermotor application.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSMaterial suppliers and part producers must conform to QualitySystem Requirements, QS-9000. Material specification requirementsare to be used for initial qualification of materials. A Contr

4、olPlan for ongoing production verification is required. This planmust be reviewed and approved by the relevant Ford Materialsactivity and/or Ford Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) prior toproduction parts submission. Appropriate statistical tools must beused to analyze process/product data and ass

5、ure consistentprocessing of the materials.Part producers using this material in their products, must use Fordapproved materials and must conform to a process control plan whichhas been approved by STA and/or the relevant Materials Activity.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord M

6、otor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/orthermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approvalshall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on fileat the designated material laboratory. All samples

8、ntrolled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested underthe same conditions unless otherwise specified.3.4 SPECIFIC GRAVITY 1.27 - 1.35(ASTM D 1475)3.5 VISCOSITY, range 100 - 300 g/(FLTM BV 103-01, extrusion rate at 620 kPa minuteair

9、pressure and 3.2 mm diameter orifice)3.6 FLOW CHARACTERISTICS 7.5 mm max(ASTM D 2202 after 3 minutes)3.7 CURE RATE - TACK FREE TIME 10 - 15 minutesA 6 mm diameter x 150 mm long bead shall be tack free in 15 minutesmax and completely cured in 168 h max, at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 %relative humidity.A

10、 tack free skin will form in 15 minutes. The bead must be testedas applied. Cure time is affected by relative humidity, degree ofconfinement, and cross-sectional thickness.Generally, a 6 mm bead will cure within 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50+/- 5 % RH. The time for proper cure is generally lengthened by

11、increased confinement.3.8 LOW TEMPERATURE FLEXIBILITY No crackingTest Method: Apply a 3 mm diameter x 150 mm long bead of materialto a strip of aluminum foil. Cure for 48 h at 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/-5 % RH. Expose to a temperature of - 40 +/- 2 C for 4 h and bendaround a temperature conditioned 3.2 mm

12、 mandrel.3.9 HIGH TEMPERATURE RESISTANCETest Method: Condition ASTM test sheets for 7 d at 23 +/- 2 C and50 +/- 5 % RH. Heat in an air circulating oven and hold for 168 hat 175 +/- 2 C. Cure for 48 h at standard conditions. Weighto determi

15、ne weight of material applied. Hang twoduplicated specimens back to back from a stainless steelwire and suspend in the following fluid and containers. TheASTM rubber test dumbbells are to be inserted into theglass test tube using nichrome wire to suspend them fromthe top to the test tubes. They shou

16、ld be completelyimmersed in the fluid.Add 150 ml of fluid to a test tube and assemble a tightlyfitted stopper and air cooled reflux condenser tube (seeASTM D 471 for apparatus description and size). Insert testtube into an aluminum heating block and heat for 24 h at 38+/- 2 C.Remove containers from

17、source of heat and cool to roomtemperature. Remove specimens and blot or rinse dry. Weighand determine percentage change in weight, tensile strengthand elongation.3.11 TOTAL SILICONE VOLATILE, max 0.5 %(FLTM AV 102-01, D4 through D10 + L4 through L10)3.12 QUALITYThere shall be a smooth homogeneous m

18、ixture, free from foreignmaterials and properties detrimental to normal productionapplication.3.13 STORAGE STABILITY, min 6 months(From date of receipt at Ford Motor Company)When stored in sealed unopened containers out of direct sunlight atambient temperatures between 5 and 32 C.The supplier must l

19、abel each container to indicat e expiration dateof the material and production usage beyond expiration date is notpermitted.3.14 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTSSpecific requirements for material and/or manufactured parts shallbe specified on the Engineering drawing, Engineering partsspecification and/or per

20、formance specification. 21、aracteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to meet t

22、he specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the

23、 request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, applyto the materials addressed by this document. The regulations aredefined in Engineering Materials Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMaterials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp

24、onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed

25、copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test facility,demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of thisspecification (test results, not nominal values), the materialdesignation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluat

26、ion. Fords engineering approval of a material will be based on itsperformance to this specification and on an assessment of suitabilityfor intended processes and/or applications. Upon approval, the materialwill be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe infor

27、mation given below is provided for clarification and assistancein meeting the requirements of this specification5.1 This material may be packaged in collapsible metal tubes, HDPEcartridges, metal containers or pails, or metal drums. Shelf lifeof the material is approximately 12 months with storage a

Afteropening, a plug of cured material may form across the containeropening during storage.
