SCOPE The material defined by this specification is seat belt webbing woven with either twisted or untwisted continuous filament yarns and finished selvages and may have a monofilament reinforceme
3、nt. Proper dyes and dyeing procedures shall be employed, the yarns may be spun dyed or the webbing may be piece dyed to provide acceptable color, appearance, and physical properties. A surface finish may be applied to enhance abrasion resistance and/or surface friction. Color stripping for redyeing
4、of webbing rejected for color is not allowed. The webbing shall be of good quality and uniform construction. 2. APPLICATION This specification was originally released for materials used in the manufacture of seat belts. This webbing acts as a load limiting device (similar to mechanical torsion bar b
5、ased retractor systems). 3. REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed herein, materials approved to these specifications must also meet all applicable requirements of marketplace National Standards such as C/FMVSS 209, ECE 16, ADR 4, JIS D4604, etc. Material specification requirements are
6、to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shall
7、constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 8、t 2010, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. 3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless

Therefore, pliability t
14、est method and requirements are to be agreed upon by the seatbelt system and webbing suppliers. The method and agreed upon requirements will be submitted with the initial source approval and made a part of the record. Any requirement changes in excess of +/- 15 % for a currently approved constructio

17、fied on the Engineering drawing, Engineering parts specification, performance specification, System Design Specification (SDS) and/or Component Design Specification (CDS). 3.17.1 Crease Recovery The seat belt system manufacturer and/or the vehicle assembly plant may require specific crease recovery
18、requirements, where induced creasing of the webbing may be caused by specific folding requirements and/or storage. The induced creasing on the webbing may, under certain circumstances, prevent the webbing from retracting fully. The test method and specific measured values, should be added to the Eng
19、ineering Drawing and agreed upon between the supplier and the affected Materials Engineering and Restraints Engineering Activities. 20、pecification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements
21、, the Supplier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon notification of the Company, further instructions will be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data and samples demonstrating compliance to t
22、his specification, if requested. Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this spe
23、cification for direct supply to the Company must have prior approval. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. These include materials critical to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility requirements or contractual agreem
24、ents. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative
25、of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 Purchase departments will ensure that materials defined in the specification and shipped to any one vehicle in an assembly plant will be produced by one supplier only.
