2、 on both sides with a FPM.2. APPLICATION:This specification was released originally as cylinder head gasket of the2 liter Zetec engine.3. REQUIREMENTS:3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSuppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describ

3、edtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared an

4、d/orthermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shallconstitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that corres

5、pond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned ina controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under

6、thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.Prior to testing, the material shall be conditioned for at least 4 hat 23 +/- 2 C in a closed chamber containing anhydrous calciumchloride as a dessicant. The air in the chamber shall be circulatedby gentle mechanical agitation. Specimens shall ten be tr

8、GINAL PROPERTIES3.5.1 Ash Content of Covering Material, max 20 %(TGA, 800 C, Ramp 20 C/min,20 - 700 C N2, 700 - 800 C air)3.6 HEAT AGING(ASTM D 573, 22 h at 200 +/- 3 C)3.6.1 Delamination, (separate test for each ply)Test Method: Firmly hold the sample at one point on acircular mandrel of diameter 6

9、0 mm thickness and forceslowly but firmly under finger pressure to contact the fulldiameter of the mandrel. Failure shall be any cracks, breaksor surface separation or delamination at the approximate time(5 +/- 1 s) required to flex the specimen.3.7 RESISTANCE TO ASTM OIL No. 1(ASTM F 146, 5 h at 1

12、2-A2Page 3 of 33.11 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalentin all characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any change in the properties, composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the mat

13、erialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of

14、the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identificationare to be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Materials Specificatio

15、n WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS:Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materials E

16、ngineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstratingfull compliance with all the requirements of this specifi

17、cation (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation and code number,and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval ofa material will be based on its performance to this specification and onan assessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applications.Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering MaterialApproved Source List.
