SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for sewing threads. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used in s

3、ewing operations in the manufacture of seat covers, trim assemblies, steering wheels, seatbelts, convertible top boot and convertible top applications, see Table 1. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys S

4、tandard Requirements for Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 APPEARANCE (FLTM BI 109-01) The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 3.3 BALANCE Take a one meter length of sewing thread drawn freely f

5、rom the side of the spool (without undue tension and without passing it through any restriction such as fingers, etc.) and bring the thread together to form a free hanging loop. 9、, min Rating 4 (FLTM AN 101-01, AATCC Evaluation Procedure 2) 3.10 SEWING TEST After the thread has been tested per the requirements stated above, it shall be assessed by a sewing test conducted under normal production conditions. The thread must process under production conditions without any reser

10、vations and meet the sewn seam requirements of the cover material specifications. Suppliers deliveries can be rejected because of excessive rates of breakage and/or other manufacturing difficulties (knots, foreign matter, etc.). In addition, after sewing, the thread shall not exhibit objectionable s

11、treaks or any change in hue or purity of color. 3.11 NUMBER OF KNOTS The thread spool shall be free from all imperfections of such character which would cause the thread to break during sewing. 3.12 IDENTIFICATION Each spool of thread must bear the name of the manufacturer, color suffix, and yarn si

12、ze. 3.13 PACKING The material must be packed in such a way that in transit no slippage of the thread layers or any other damage occurs.
