2、ISTANT, WSS-M96D33-A11 CONDUCTIVE, LOW PERMEATING, NBR OR HNBR TUBE/THV OR CPT/NBR/CM COVER 1. SCOPE This specification defines a conductive, non-reinforce multi-layer composite hose with enhanced low permeation and good resistance to fuel blends containing methanol. The hose shall consist of an inn

3、er layer of NBR or HNBR tube, a barrier layer such as THV or CPT, an NBR layer, and a CM cover. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for fuel tank vent hoses and for vapor management hoses. These constructions are not for fuel line applications. Vapor management applications may

4、 be non-conductive but fill and fill vent applications must be conductive. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 APPROVED SOURCES This specification requires the use of approved sources. Only the sources identified on the Ford Approved Source List (ASL) can be used when this specification is listed on the drawing, CA

5、D file, or other documents. The list of approved sources is located within Ford at or available externally through a Ford Materials Engineer. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values are based on material conditioned for not less than 24 h prior to testing in a controlled environment of

6、 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. Testing of the material should occur in the conditioning environment or soon after removal. 3.3 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS IR spectra and thermograms from initial material approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall

7、be kept on file at the designated material laboratory. The material supplier shall ensure that all future material supplied to the specification shall produce IR spectra and thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions. 3.4 INITIAL QUALIFICATION Supplie

8、rs seeking approval to this specification must meet the initial qualification processes that include evaluating materials and constructions according to the applicable Fuel System Design Specification (SDS) and individual Design Verification Methods (DVM). 3.5 LIMITATIONS Vapor lines can be either c

9、onductive or non-conductive. Liquid caring lines must be conductive. This material does not contain UV stabilizers, long term exposure to direct sunlight will cause cracking. 10、right 2017, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 5 3.6 HOSE CONSTRUCTION The hose shall consist of a smooth bore, electrically conductive inner layer of NBR or HNBR tube, a barrier layer such as THV or CPT, an NBR layer, and a CM cover. 3.7 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Requirements beyond those explic

11、itly stated in this document and the material specification may be specified on the Engineering drawing, Engineering specification (ES), performance specification, System Design Specification (SDS) and/or Attribute Requirement List (ARL). 3.8 PERFORMANCE CRITERIA Materials approved to this specifica

12、tion must also be approved to the fuel system polymeric materials performance standard: WSS-M98P14-A2 Complete Construction 3.8.1 Burst Pressure (ASTM D380) Hose Size, (Approximate I.D.) Below 9.53 mm 1.0 MPa min 9.53 15.87 mm 0.68 MPa min 15.87 mm and larger 0.34 MPa min 3.8.2 Compression Set 75 %,

13、 max (FLTM BP 108-6, 70 h at 100 C, 25% compression) 3.8.3 Electrical Resistance Surface resistivity (SAE J2260) less than or equal to 1 x 106 Ohms 3.8.4 Vacuum Collapse (SAE J30R11) Test Method: For straight hose, a 1 m length of hose or the assembly shall be held in a straight line. On preformed p

14、arts, the vacuum collapse test shall be performed on the finished part. No diameter shall decrease by more than 20 % during the application of vacuum for a minimum of 15 seconds and not more than 60 seconds. Hose sizes as listed below shall be subjected to the corresponding vacuum pressure: Complete

16、lobal Technologies, LLC Page 3 of 5 3.8.6 Resistance to Kinking Ball must pass freely (SAE J30, para 6.20) 3.8.7 Flammability Resistance, Cover Stock Only Self- extinguishing (ISO 3795) within 60 seconds 3.8.8 Hose Identification The colored tracer cord in the reinforcement of the hose may be used f

17、or source identification. The color shall be determined between Purchasing and the supplier. The word gas/fuel and the coding described below shall appear on the outer cover of the hose in contrasting color and repeated at intervals of 60 mm or less. Mandrel cured hose may be coded once per part. Th

18、e following format is recommended: a) Supplier identification code. b) Date of manufacture (week, year) and plant designation if supplier has more than one plant producing hoses to this specification. No space between letters. Mandatory on hoses longer then 80 mm only. c) Ford trademark on hoses lon

19、ger then 150 mm. d) All of the above printing shall be clearly and legibly printed letters of 4.5 - 6 mm in height and width. When hose is less then 80 mm long, width of letters may be reduced to 3 mm. The following code format is recommended, but not mandatory: G 2 01 Where: G = Plant Designation 2

20、 = Year (single digit) 01 = Week (2-digit number) 3.9 PERFORMANCE CRITERIA REPORT ONLY Materials approved to this specification must also be approved to the fuel system polymeric materials performance standard: WSS-M98P14-A2 Tube Barrier Cover 3.9.1 Hardness International Report Report Report (ISO 4

21、8/ASTM D1415, micro) 3.9.2 Original Breaking Strength and elongation at Break (Entire Hose Construction, 50 mm/minute) Test Method: Record the I.D. and O.D. of a 150 mm straight length of hose and clamp the hose on suitable fittings in a tensile testing machine to prevent pull-off. Apply gage marks

22、or extensometers to the hose to measure elongation. Apply a load at a rate of 50 mm/minute until the hose ruptures. Record the force to break the hose and the elongation of the hose at break. Calculate the hose breaking strength by dividing the breaking force by the annular cross-sectional area of t

23、he hose wall. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is

24、 provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. Contact for questions concerning Engineering Material Specifications. 4.1 APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing,

25、Design or Product Development, and Materials Engineering. The supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of the Material Specification. Test

26、ed material samples must be available for review upon request and kept for a minimum of one year. Upon request, the supplier will review the associated quality control documents (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Certification testing) with Ford. 4.2 SUPPLIERS ONGOING RESPONS

27、IBILITY All materials must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any changes to the material originally approved, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the supplier s

28、hall notify the affected Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities of the proposed changes (with reasons) by submission of a completed Suppliers Request for Engineering Approval, SREA. For parts and components using Ford Engineering Material Specifications

29、, all samples tested to the specifications for Design Verification (DV), Production Verification (PV) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) sign off must be kept until Job 1. 4.3 RESTRICTED SUBSTANCE MANAGEMENT STANDARD Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies

30、 to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are identified in the Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1 which is updated yearly. It is the suppliers responsibility to comply with this standard on a continuing basis through IMDS and or GMAP reporting. 4.4 GENERIC
